Craps is a very popular casino game; it can be played with one or more players. The game is played when each player takes a turn rolling two dice at once. The player with the dice is called the shooter. The game is played in rounds and the very first roll of each new round is called a come out roll. If the shooter throws a 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12 on the come out roll then the round ends and the shooter must roll another come out roll. The result of a 2, 3 or 12 is called crap0s while a 7 or 11 is a win or a natural. When the shooter rolls any of the other numbers they are called point, if a point is thrown then the shooter will re-roll the dice until a 7 is rolled or the point is rolled again.

Players can make any number bet they wish, most of these are betting on the way the way will end with either a point or a 7 out. Other types of betting can have bets on a specific total being rolled out or a specific total will be rolled before a 7. In casinos bets are made with casino issued chips on a specifically made craps table. The game you will notice is run by 4 casino workers. They are the boxman, he guards the chips and supervises the deals and handles coloring out players. There are two based dealers, each stand to either side of the boxman and collect and pay out the bets.

The Stickman, he stands across from the boxman and he announces the results of each roll to the table and then he collects the dice with an elongated stick hence the name stickman. He is also in charge of collecting the bets from the middle of the table, these bets are called hardway, yo and horn bets.

When there is new shooter who has to bet the minimum the table sets, he places the bets on the pass line or do not pass line to play and the give 5 dice by the stickman, the shooter chooses two dice from the five to play with. The rules of the game dictate that the shooter must roll the dice with one hand, once the shooter picks up the dice he cannot switch hands the dice cannot leave those hands.

The shooter will then toss the dice within the walls of the table, the dice cannot slide across the table they must end up at the far wall and then bounce off of the wall. All other players when the dice are being rolled must keep their hands away from the table to avoid any unnecessary contact with the dice. These rules exist to prevent cheating. If the dice happens to fly off the table then the stickman will present the shooter with new dice to complete the roll. All of the rules ensure fun and fairplay for all of the players involved.

Not only is it important to learn the rules of the game and the rules of the casino but the rules of etiquette do apply as well. When you can play and act like a professional but as a beginner then you have master the casinos game rules. The center bets are made by tossing chips in the middle of the table and call out the intended bet and the stickman will then place the correctly for the player. Another rules of etiquette that dealers don’t like are late bets they are considered rude or to make bets when the dice is not in the center of the table anymore. The late betting is allowed but the excessive late bets will have the dealer giving a warning.

Most experienced players do feel that it is bad luck for the shooter to get up from the table after a successful co9me out roll. There are players who have their own superstitions in the game and this is one of them. It is mathematically a better bet the wrong betters are people who do not pass are considered to be bad luck at the table.

For a game etiquette rule, when the shooter is ready to roll all the players should remove their hands from around the table area to avoid interfering with the dice. The stickman will often say hands high, let em fly or dice are out, hands high. This way there is no chance of an accidental interference with the dice.

When making your bet in the field or on the BIG 6 or the BIG 8, it is the responsibility to track his or her bet. You can Place bets and Come Line bets and these will be tracked by the dealer who pays you directly. The Hardway bets and other proposition type bets will be tracked by the stickman and the player will be paid by the dealer directly to you on the instruction from the stickman.

There are different types of bets in the game of Craps. If you are a beginner player you should know hat kind they are in order to keep up with game and keep in running. Remember no matter what your bet is make sure you bet on time, players consider it rude when late bets are made. The Player bet is called the Fire Bet, this bet is before a shooter throws the dice, and there are some casinos that will let a bet known as a fire bet to be placed.

Ask the dealer before hand if these are allowed at the table. A fire bet is a bet that ranges from $ 1 to $ 5 and these are placed in the hopes that the shooter will have a hot streak of getting many points of different values. As these bets are made they will be marked with a fire symbol. The first three points are not paid out but the fourth, fifth and sixth are paid out with better odds.

Then there are Line Bets, The shooter will have to make a Pass Line Bet or Don’t Pass bet if he wants to be the shooter. Line bets are also based on points. Pass line bets are the most common types of bets and in other countries is called the win line. A pass line bet is won if the come out roll is a 7 or an 11. If the come out roll is a 2, 3 or 12 the bet is lost. Now, if the come out roll establishes a point and the point are rolled again the bet will win. If the point is established and a 7 is rolled before the point is re rolled the bet is also lost.

The Don’t Pass bet is the complete opposite from the Pass bet. The don’t pass be
t is the opposite in regards to the come out roll is a 7 or an 11 the roll is lost and if the roll is a 2 or 3 then the roll is won. A 12 will bring a draw depending on what casino rules are. No matter what the rules are for a 12 a player under don’t pass rules will not lose that bet.

If a point is established and then the point is rolled again the don’t pass line will win the bet. If a 7 is rolled instead of a point being re rolled then the bet will not win. That is why not too many players use the don’t pass line, some players think it is bad luck. As we have mentioned before there are players who play based on superstition and two of the superstitions are don’t bet late and don’t bet on the don’t pass line.

Bet on the way you feel, if you are new to the game, keep the bet low and try betting both ways, you don’t want to lose too much money betting on a line you are experimenting with.

These types of bets are bets that are not settled on the first roll and may need any numbers of other rolls before any kind of determination is made.

Hard way bet: this is when you can bet that the shooter will throw a specific hard way which is the 4, 6, 8 or 10 before he actually throws a 7 or the easy way roll. The hard way is when both dice happen to show identical values so throwing a 2 and a 2 is considered a hard way 4.

Easy way bet: this is the opposite of the hard way bet; here you are betting that the shooter will throw a 4, 6, 8 or 10 before he rolls a7. An easy way is a value that does not have identical dice, so a 5 and a1 are an easy way 6.

The Big 6 Or the Big 8 bet: These wagers are regarded by craps players as sucker bets, the reason being is they pay more money when a player can bet on the same proposition which would be that a number will be rolled before a 7, by making a bet on the 6 or 8 which will pay more money than regular bets. The players who have been playing for years avoid bets like this and there are even some casinos that do not allow players to make them. Ask the table before you play if these bets are allowed.

The Place and Buy Bets: Players can buy or place a certain single number such as 4, 5,6,8,9 or 10 by putting their bets in the come area and then notifyi8ng the dealer Place the 6 or Buy the 8. Both types of bets are the bet that the number bet will be rolled before a 7 is called. Place bets are paid worse odds than true odds and buy bets are paid double. But most casinos charge a 5 percent commission is charges. In most cases the buy bet commission is paid whether win or lose but most casinos have changed their rules to say only if the player wins a buy bet then they will collect. Otherwise, players would not stay to play if they paid an additional 5 percent for losing.

If the player wins then the house would collect a Dollar on a $ 25 chips which is a 4 percent take and $ 2 on a $ 50 bet. The last type of bet is the Lay bet.

The Lay bet is an opposite bet of a Place and Buy bet where a player bets on a 7 to roll before other numbers. The lay bets odds pay true odds but that 5 percent commission still stands. In some casinos they will only take the commission when the player wins.

Craps can be fun but there are so many different styles of bets to learn and pick from. If you are a beginner then you may want to stick to Pass Line bets until you are more familiar with the others.

There are two types of rules in craps, there are the rules of play which you must follow in order to play the game and the other rules are the rules of the casino which you must follow if you want to play in the casino, this is similar to poker. If you are new to the game, it is highly recommended to read the rules and abide by them while playing or you may be asked to leave the table.

Rule # 1: Players do not handle the dice with more than one hand. Even passing the dice from hand to hand is a no-no. Simply pick up the dice with one hand and throw. If the table allows you to switch hands, place the dice on the table and then pick up the dice with the other hand. It prevents the player from switching dice.

Rule # 2: When the player throws the dice, they are expected to hit the farthest wall at the opposite end of the table. The dice cannot slide they must hit the wall and fall. Players will be told to not throw the dice higher than the eye level of the dealer.

Rule # 3: The dice cannot end up in the boxman’s bank or any of the dealers working stack of money

Rule # 4: When either one of the dice does land on the chips or markers not in the boxman’s banker the dealers working bank then the number on top of the object will be called.

Rule # 5: If both dice hits a player or a dealer and then rolls back onto the table the roll will count as long as the person who the dice hit did not interfere with the motion of the dice.

Rule # 6: Some players who throw the dice are known as shooters and sometimes the shooter may set the dice to a configuration, the dealer may allow it but tell the shooter to be quick as not to interrupt the game.

Rule # 7: Do not try to place the bets in the dealers hand or even expect them to hand you the chips, you place the money on the table and the dealer will slide the chips to you on the table or place them down. The reason is that dealers are not allowed to touch the players.

Rule # 8: Most of the craps table state” NO CALL BETS”, this means that a player is not allowed to call abet without having the right amount of chips on the table. If the chips on the table exceed the bet then that becomes your bet.

For example, if there is a $ 50 chip is placed and bets are being called out as $ 25 on five and nine, the dealer will say it is a bet and then returns the change to the player. The No CALL BET rule is used to prevent that from happening. Craps can be fun and fast paced and the better you know the rules the better you will play.
